A great deal of actors and actresses are having difficulty making ends meet in LA and are spending their time on being waiters rather than perfecting their craft. Due to this, many people in the entertainment business have now gone to smaller cities like Seattle, Washington and Albuquerque, New Mexico. One example are some women wanting to be models in Los Angeles found out the Seattle models can make more money by getting booked through a Seattle modeling firm than one in LA or New York.

Los Angeles and Hollywood, California have had many people move there from all around the globe if they want to try to make a living in the entertainment business . Many actors and singers from other towns often dream of heading West to Hollywood to make it big . Unfortunately because of this frequent occurrence , the Los Angeles area is overpopulated with actors and actresses trying to make it in the business . In addition to the overpopulation problem , high expense of living in that part of California is astronomical and tough to survive in while attempting to get your foot in the door for a movie or television show .

The first reason is the proximity it has to Los Angeles and the fact that is still on the same time zone helps greatly if access to go to LA for a reason comes up . Seattle is a booming, fun and hip city that has many things going for it. It is set right on the water with access by ferry to Victoria, BC which is a fabulous city to visit too . The population in Seattle is younger than most cities too and the entertainment business has really boomed here in the past decade with enormous donations made to the entertainment areas by local mogul Bill Gates. Opportunities for theatre, modeling and some commercial work are abundant and a great way to get started in your craft .

Albuquerque, New Mexico is now the new city to be in if you want to work in movies. In the past 5 years, several movies have been filmed here due to the lower expense of finding a facility and the cost of access to the wide open land here too . Many movie studio warehouses have been built here and because it is so much cheaper to film in this state than in California it has been a popular thing to do so for several movie directors and producers. Many people working in films behind the scenes have realized this and have now moved to Albuquerque permanently and are getting more work than they can do .

The lower cost of living in New Mexico allows those that are making films or even acting in films to live very comfortably for less money and the views are an added bonus as well . Major film star Julia Roberts spends as much time as she can on her ranch in New Mexico and several actors are wanting to do the same .
